I was a little disappointed with Just Paul yesterday as turning for home I thought he was in A1 position and may go on and win. He traded very short in the run on Betfair but once again just got outpaced when the others quickened. I had previously thought that the drop to six might work, but on yesterday’s evidence he may be a miler. He remains on the list but is one to watch for now.
Those of you that tuned into Timeform Radio will know that I was incredibly keen on Daree at Wolverhampton. I couldn’t believe the price pre-race as I thought he was so well handicapped of 69. Shevchenko was on too…assuring me the 6/4 was almost a maximum bet. He won very easily but the horse to take out of the race may have been the Godolphin second string. Watch the video back and let me know your thoughts. Last nights train journey was torture. I have never encountered so many idiots in such a short space of time. Anyone that chooses to live in London is barmy in my eyes.
I’m really looking forward to Hazy Tom’s chasing debut this afternoon (2.50 Towc). He has always been a chaser in waiting and he will surely be a class above his rivals today. The only downside may be that he wouldn’t want it very quick. He probably only has to beat the brilliantly named Thanks For Coming from the Nicky Henderson team. He was rated 124 over hurdles but ultimately was a good stone behind what Hazy Tom achieved over the smaller obstacles. Interesting that shares in Thanks For Coming were advertised in the Racingpost a few days ago.
I fully expect the Tom to win
4 pts win @ 11/8 with BetVictor & Paddys
There are handicap good things that come along every now and again like early Christmas presents and there is a facemelter at Nottingham in the form of SUNPASS. The price has gone now as he is odds on but we managed to get some of the 6/4 flying around late last night. A handicap mark of 78 is way below where he should be and with the 3-year-old allowances he is so well in. He could bolt up. If he touches even money then get on.
I haven’t been through Kempton’s card yet, but may check back later with more.
Enjoy your day and best of luck,
